Tamora Pierce's books just keep getting better and better. They're also getting longer, but it doesn't matter because the stories are so strong. This one does for Emelan what the Trickster books and the Becca Cooper books did for Tortall. The worlds become deeper and more real with every subsequent book set there. ARC from netgalley. Typical Agatha Raisin. One thing that irritates me about this series-how on earth is Toni still only 19? There have been at least two Christmases since we first met Toni, she's had at least 6 boyfriends, been engaged more than once, Simon has been, gone, got engaged and almost married, divorced, and has come back again, still in love with Toni, Agatha has been engaged three times, at least, and married and divorced, Charles has also been engaged multiple times, and yet none of the characters have aged a day? And all those murders. It's like a little time warp in Carsley and Mircester.
A Perfect Proposal
A new romance from Katie Fforde is like hiding away in a sunny window seat with a cup of tea and some little fairy cakes. I always look forward to her books. I do prefer those with older, slightly less naive heroines than Sophie, however, although that may be a reflection of where I am in my life rather than the quality of the author's work. For these reasons, Wild Designs is still my favourite Katie Fforde novel!
